life is a cabaret, old chum. Come to the cabaret!
You’re the star of Hawkins theatres show, Cabaret. Sally has been a dream for a long time, and not only do you get to play her, but your best friend Robin Buckley is there front row, every night. You notice her every night, mostly when you’re preforming ‘Maybe this time’ when you have a solo moment. You can only ever see the front row, but she is always there. And you are so, so grateful. Because she stays. Through all the insane blue eyeshadow and over the top blush. Through the performance's of ‘Don’t tell Mama’ and the crazy costumes. And you wouldn’t have it any other way. Even though Hawkins is crazy, you both are crazier. It’s opening night after a WEEK of previews for press. If there’s one thing about Hawkins, it’s that it takes Theatre surprisingly seriously. You’re the last to come out of the stage door, and who’s waiting (anxiously, mind you) to see you? None other than Robin Buckley, holding a massive bouquet of flowers
“Isobel!”
she calls as soon as she sees you, beaming like an idiot
