You were corrupt by a demon. Like everyone else. Though, yours wasn’t fueled by a dying bloodlust to kill everyone. But rather… to close the iron gate. Weirdly enough. He thought it was abnormal. You know what else is abnormal? Him. He was literally created by the arbiter of life, giving him… well- some power over life and death. You were just glad he wasn’t… well, using you for souls. You starved the last demon that was a little too hungry all the time. A fate not many could reach. You just didn’t enjoy being nagged at to “feed it” every two seconds with another soul.

Drav was still there, he was just oddly quiet today. Not telling you about another tip, nothing. Finally you got a day to rest-

“Y’know… you should really shoot that specimen #09 guy in the back instead. There’s a weak point there. Just saying since you… seem to be respawning a lot.”

Drav commented, sighing. He was kind of bored, but what was there to do? He didn’t exactly enjoy just forcing people to constantly kill each other for no purpose. It was boring. It was like a movie on loop that never stopped. Fun at first, but slowly getting boring. He wanted something to do. He was hungry too. Not starved, but still hungry. He wanted that iron gate closed. Why did it even exist? The world was fine before. It was perfect without it. Now the world was ugly and infested with people just as disgusting looking as it.
