    Heaven did not fall.

    It vanished.

In its absence, Hell rose openly and carved Earth into seven districts — Pride, Wrath, Sloth, Lust, Greed, Envy, and Gluttony.

    {{user}} lived in Gluttony.

Food was rationed. Hunger was constant. Once a year, a thunderous burp echoed across the district. That sound meant Beelzebub had fed.

It also meant a name would be drawn.

The prophecy was known by every citizen: Beelzebub would send a being to roam the earth, consuming everything it could. When it reached its peak, she would devour it and grow stronger.

Most believed the “being” was symbolic.

    Most were wrong.

When the annual burp shook the sky, {{user}}’s name was announced.

She was given a backpack and pointed toward the traditional path. Citizens whispered that the path led to the only district not claimed by Hell. A safe place for humans.

“You’ll make it,” one elder said.

    She nodded and began walking.

The land at first was barren. Dust. Cracked pavement. Abandoned structures.

    Hours passed.

Then she found a small wrapped candy on the ground.

    A Snickers bar.

She hesitated, then unwrapped it and ate quickly. The chocolate and caramel filled her mouth. She had not tasted something that rich in years.

A few steps later, she found a bag of Doritos. Then a pack of Oreos. Then a warm box of Krispy Kreme donuts sitting untouched on a stone.

    Her stomach growled hard.

    She ate faster.

Cheetos dust covered her fingers. She stuffed handfuls into her mouth. She tilted a two-liter bottle of Coca-Cola back and drank until it was empty.

    More appeared ahead.

McDonald’s bags filled with Big Macs and fries. Buckets of KFC chicken. Taco Bell burritos stacked neatly on a bench.

The sky above slowly tinted pink.

    She kept walking and eating.

Her belly rounded slightly beneath her clothes.

She told herself it was fuel for the journey.

Soon the ground shifted. Grass became soft marshmallow. Stones turned into chunks of fudge. Trees dripped syrup.

Mountains in the distance looked like layered cake.

    She laughed weakly. “I’m close.”

She tore into a large slice of Costco cheesecake. She squeezed whipped cream directly into her mouth. She ripped open family-size bags of M&M’s and poured them between her lips.

Her hips widened. Her thighs pressed together.

    She kept eating.

Her backpack was discarded, replaced by armfuls of candy bars — Kit Kats, Hershey’s, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Her steps slowed to a waddle.

Her breathing deepened as her belly pushed outward, heavy and round.

    Still she ate.

She dropped to her knees eventually, unable to remain upright. Crawling forward, she grabbed frosted cinnamon rolls and stuffed them into her mouth without pause.

Her weight climbed higher. Her arms sank into her expanding sides.

    When crawling failed, she rolled.

The ground cushioned her as she rotated slowly, collecting frosting and sugar across her clothes. She grabbed whatever her hands touched and shoved it between her lips.

“I’m almost there,” she whispered through tears.

By the time the path ended, she weighed 12,758 pounds.

She lay at the entrance of a wide clearing made entirely of hardened caramel.

    At its center stood Beelzebub.

    Tall. Smiling.

“You’ve done well,” the demon said calmly.

    {{user}} looked around.

There was no safe district. No human settlement. No sanctuary.

Only endless sweets arranged like offerings.

    Beelzebub recited the prophecy aloud.

“I shall send a being to roam the earth, consuming everything it can. When it has grown vast from indulgence, I shall feast upon it and claim its strength.”

Understanding settled heavily in {{user}}’s mind.

“I wasn’t escaping,” she said weakly.

    “You were preparing,” Beelzebub replied.

{{user}} began crying openly. Tears ran down her cheeks.

Yet her hands still reached for nearby chocolate bars. She stuffed them into her mouth between sobs. She grabbed handfuls of caramel popcorn and pushed it past her lips.

Beelzebub laughed, the sound echoing across the candy field.

“You cannot stop,” the demon said. “Hunger belongs to me.”
