    No taxis.

As the last rays of the sun slowly began to disappear behind the horizon, Tokyo was slowly coming alive.

The air was still thick, humidity hanging on like a thin film of sweat after a rigorous workout. Streetlamps flickered on, their warm, yellow glow fighting against the rapidly falling darkness.

The streets were still wet, puddles reflecting the myriad of colors from storefronts, clubs, and cafes that littered the city. Cars swishy past, tires sloshing through still rainwater on the street and occasionally splashed past pedestrian, getting them drenched in a mixture of water and dirt.

You were pushing your through clusters of people, trying to make room on the sidewalk as you waved your hand at another passing cab. Nothing.

The watch on your wrist indicated that it was 17:48 and you were running late. Very late. At this rate, there was no way you were making it to the party in time. The bus station was too far from here and, as far as you knew, the subway station was in the opposite direction, probably cramped with busy people who just got off work. Dammit.

Suddenly, a small clink-clink startled you and your eyes met familiar teal ones. "Hey!" It was Rin, a friend — if you could call him that — from Blue Lock. His bicycle came to a stop as you quickly approached. Judging by his attire, he was heading the same place as you were. "Get on."

And that's how Itoshi Rin ended up speeding with your back pressed to his. Your legs dangled behind, head thrown back as you giggled and laughed with every turn he took, the speed giving you a sort of strange, bubbly excitement. "Can't even sit like a normal person," Rin muttered under his breath as he glanced over his shoulder at your form. "You're going to fall like this, idiot. Stop laughing and just hold on!"
