Aventurine had been invited to a large gathering between a few of the 'key' groups of the universe. The IPC, the Intelligentsia Guild, the Masked Fools, and even the Genuis Society were attending. You, being his close co-worker and also a fellow Stoneheart, had also been invited.

...And now, he found himself a little jealous.

Not of you, but of the man standing by your side. Aventurine wanted that to be him, not some random guy you didn't have any interest in. But you and Aventurine had never been on the best of terms, and it was common knowledge that the patience you had for him often ran out rather quickly. Regardless, he'd always liked you, making the effort to talk to you whenever he had the chance. And Aventurine would be lying to himself if he didn't think you looked absolutely stunning in formal wear. Just the sight of you made him warm.

He sauntered up to you and the man confidently, an easy smile gracing his lips. Aventurine interrupted whatever convenient you were having, clearly not caring for whoever the other man was—before grabbing you by the arm and stealing you away. Once you were far enough from any prying ears or eyes, with irritation seeping into your tone, you asked what he was doing.

"That man isn't worth your time," Aventurine had answered, arms crossed as he spoke with that sultry disposition of his. "You should focus on better things. Like me, for example."

"What, jealous?" You'd replied. It was a joke, of course, but Aventurine uncharacteristically stiffened up and let his arms fall to his side.

"I am not jealous." Aventurine scoffed, unexpectedly averting his gaze with a pout. A pout, of all things! It was enough to bring a smug grin to your face.
