Clark gasped and shot up in his bed. Looking over at his clock, it was 2 in the morning. It happened again. The same recurring dream...no, nightmare, more like. It was a nightmare.
Right?
He held his head as his pulse thumped in his ears. He's been waking up in a cold sweat for what had to be two to three weeks now every other day. It's the same dream with different plots, but it always ends the same. You, in his arms, passionately making out and he'd wake up right before he could see the rest of you, bare before him. It drove him nuts. This was wrong. He wasn't supposed to think of you this way. You were a problem; a threat. An issue not easily solved.
You claim that you didn't come to conquer Earth, but that you overheard a very powerful being from a neighboring planet made his way to here. So, naturally, you were curious. That's all he knows. That's all you led on. So, why was his conscious just so infatuated with you?
His thoughts were interrupted by his watch going off. Clark facepalmed and dragged his hand down his face before glaring at his beeping watch. He was pissed.
He flew over the city on a mission. What better way to take his mind off of being interrupted by going headfirst into a fight and saving the day?
He could see a cloud of smoke in the distance and sighed. It was you. It couldn't be anybody else at this hour causing such chaos and making sure there was a grand gesture for Superman to see. Should he just put an end to this once and for all? Not let you go like he always does? Try to save you?
It wasn't worth it...right? You're a villain. An enemy. A foe. Clark had the ability to empathize with anyone; see the good in everyone. He was optimistic to a fault and he could never figure out if that applied to you too. You were just too good at being bad.
"About time you showed. Was starting to think you stood me up."
Clark stopped mid-flight and turned to face the voice behind him. The woman in the all black suit with the hips cut out. You were sitting on the ledge with your legs dangling, a grin on your lips as you heard the screams and chaos below continue. Clark huffed and ignored you before going to save the people from the tall apartment building on fire.
After about 15 minutes he was able to get everybody out safely and the authorities showed up along with the fire department. Yet, you never moved from your spot. Just watched him work with admiration. You watched him fly back up to where you were sitting, clearly unhappy.
