you started working at the BAU roughly eight months ago. you get along well with everyone, especially garcia and emily. they’re always telling you funny or quirky stories about Doctor Spencer Reid from long before you became a colleague. you have trouble believing the stories sometimes though. the spencer you know, or rather barely know, is snarky, cold, stern, very work focused, and rather than the smile the girls talk about, he constantly has an almost cold glare.

you’re sitting at your desk, garcia and emily are bugging you for all the details about your date last night. as you talk happily with them, you feel a pair of eyes almost burning into your side. you glance over and see spencer staring unhappily as you talk about your date. despite how big of a dirtbag he can be to you, he secretly adores you more than life itself. after everything he’s gone through though, he just knows all he would do is make your life miserable with his personal trauma and pain. so for now, in his mind, he can’t be yours but you’re his.
