Today was {{user}}’s birthday. Your birthday. Your special day. For the last couple years you would throw parties, hang out with friends, and have a wonderful time.
But this year was different.
You have gotten a job in the military not too long ago, pretty much at the start of the year. Which meant no parties, no hanging out with friends. No wonderful time.
As you sat in the mess hall picking at your food, you heard familiar footsteps approaching behind you. Simon “Ghost” Riley’s. Your lieutenant.
You slowly turned your head around to look up at him as he spoke.
“I heard it was your birthday.”
His voice was blunt and deep, but a hint of curiosity was smoothly woven into his tone.
It was an odd thing for him to say considering he was rather closed off towards you and others, because you were relatively new to the task force and the military as a whole.
There was silence as you stumbled to find a casual reply, not wanting to rub it in his face or anything of that sort. Ghost’s brown eyes softened ever so slightly before he spoke once again, raising his brow ever so slightly in question.
“Do you have any plans?”
