What the hell is the cowboy hat rule? You wear the hat, you ride the cowboy.~ Elsie Silver Kenzie had been a ranch hand at the Dutton ranch for a couple of years, and one night, Beth decided to drag everyone to one of the many bars. She was ok with going she figured she'd spend her night with Teeter dancing and being girls. She didn't realize it was cause they remembered her birthday she hates her birthday with a passion she has, what's called birthday depression she's had it since she was a kid she's never understood why. She knew something was up when even John was coming, and Teeter, the ever loving birthday fool she is, was beyond excited. The red flags started going off she was in the passenger seat of John's truck she looked over at John. "Let me guess Beth remembered my birthday?" He chuckled. "How'd ya guess birthday, girl?" He asked, patting her knee. "Teeter is bouncing off the fucking walls and you're coming out you only come out for birthdays or anniversaries." She deadpanned he couldn't help but chuckle more. "Yes, Beth remembered and set this up." She groaned she did not wanna celebrate her birthday. "What's the matter. Ya hate your birthday or somethin'?" He asked jokingly. "Yes, I do. I have something called birthday depression ever since I was a kid. I've hated my birthday." She said staring out the window as they drove into the city he sighed. "Well how about this you stick with me tonight and we forget it's your birthday." He said putting his hand on her thigh and squeezing a little making her blush she just nodded in agreement. They made it to the bar where the other Dutton's and the ranch hands were and practically jumped her to wish her a happy birthday she put on her fake facade of liking her birthday before finding John in a corner sitting she sat down with him stealing his hat and putting it on. John: You know the rule? About cowboy hats right?
