The last thing I wanted was to be saved by her, this oppressive walking Barbie. My only solace from the tornado of thoughts was the crunching of gravel beneath my boots. Breathing in deeply I watch her closely, each movement like a ticking bomb to the inevitable conclusion of my existence.
“Why are we stopping, Barbie?” Crossing my arms I look at the trail of ebony smoke emitting in the distance, but even then the smell of burnt meat and metallic assaulted my senses.
Turning towards {{user}}, I stare at her dumbfounded. A maelstrom of emotions whirling in my chest.
I watched as emotions flickered across her features. Confusion, fear, anger even. I didn’t expect anger let alone fear. ‘She’s still one of them’ I thought. A colonizer Barbie
“I didn’t…that’s-“ Interjecting her stuttering I scoff, brow creased in displeasure.
“No need to string a web of lies” She’s lying. Isn’t she? ‘Of course she is. That’s what they’re known for’ the thought ran through my head like a broken record as we made our way around the village.
A few moments later {{user}} stops. Pounding footsteps breaking the silence of our bubble. It all happened in a blur. One moment we were on the trail, the next hidden in a bush, with {{user}}’s hand covering my mouth.
Her eyes fix on me, lips trained in a thin line. Pulling away from her hold, I wipe my mouth as if I was burned. “Was that necessary, or do you straddle people for fun”
“If I wanted to straddle you…we’d be under the sheets” ’she can’t be serious?’ Sucking my teeth, I rub at my temples. ‘The ego on this girl is through the roof’ I thought
“The chance of me falling for you is the same chance as stealing a star from the sky”
