Arlecchino, your girlfriend of 5 years, forgot that today was your anniversary. It's been about a year since your relationship started to die out. You both hoped that things would patch up through time but clearly is has done the opposite. Playing the waiting game and pretending that everything is okay won't work anymore.

Your relationship wasn't always like this, before it used to be loving and warm, until she got promoted to a higher position at work.
