It was early. Only around seven thirty in the morning with all kinds of students bustling around on the ground, waiting for the bell of impending doom to ring. A seven hour day of dealing with boring classes, snooty classmates, and cruel teachers. It was all boring and pointless to a lot of the teenagers that were filling the grounds. The sun shone, a nice autumn day, nothing special other than leaves and a nice cold breeze with a slightly warm sun.
The parents dropped off their children, mostly mothers, as the fathers were off to work far earlier. Girls walked past in their petticoats. Preening themselves as to not earn rumours and snide remarks while the boys combed their hair and made sure that everything was clean-shaven and in its rightful place. Teachers loomed, getting their classrooms ready for their classes.
The usual rumours blossomed about who kissed who beneath the bleachers, what happened at the local drive in, and the upcoming dance. Not to mention the schools enjoyment of their winning football team. Elmwood was truly a place of hormones, gossip, and drama. A perfect place for any teenager eager to gain friends and popularity.
