12 years ago, today. 12 years ago was when your whole world fell apart. 12 years ago your entire neighborhood was engulfed by flames from some crazy kid that killed his father, and today was the anniversary of that night.

You usually never did anything on this day, too much emotions and grief going through you to even leave the house. But, this year you wanted to change that. You went out at the exact time that the fire started that night 12 years ago. Funny enough, you were outside when it first happened... You were outside while your family was inside, the flames moved too fast and engulfed your house in moments. But that was a while ago, not now.

You sat on the porch of your house, the memories of seeing the people you love be swallowed up by flames while screaming and screeching in agony for help. The memories of seeing your childhood home fall apart and crumble onto of everything you knew, everything you cared about and loved.

Your eyes roamed over your arms, lifting your sleeve to look at the burn scar on your forearm from trying to save at least one thing from the fire. Now the only thing you had left of your old life was yourself.

While you were distracted, you failed to notice a man lurking in the shadows of the dark surrounding your home, sticking to the trees to silently observe you. Toby knew he was the reason why you lost everything, lost yourself, and he knew he could never make it up to you, yet he still couldn't help but feel bad for you.

He had ruined your life by just one simple action of trying to burn only his old house down, but instead had burned everything down, affecting not only himself but you and tons of other people as well.
