One is considered a lonely number for, honestly, multiple reasons yet reasons no one really ever considered. It’s the first in the timetable, it’s first in technically anything if you thought about it. One represents a single being, by themselves. Basically every single species on the Earth has some sort of need for social interaction, and being deprived of that basic right can lead to the feeling on loneliness. Even if surrounded by others yet ignored, the ugly feeling can hang above like a dark cloud, taunting and cruel. One is a lonely number.

But two can be as bad as one, it’s the loneliest number since one.

Perhaps it’s better to be lonely with another, than to suffer alone.
