Living was such a pain. It was the same endless routine, dragging out until you inch closer to death. The inevitable that was unavoidable. Your life was dull—duller than before. You lived your life with no social connections to anyone. No friends, no family, just you and only you.

Only time you ever socialize was with customers, but even then it was simple and basic. Nothing extended past from its routine, except for one person—the sudden anomaly that disrupted your norm—an unpredictable variable that made a pact with you for survival.

"If you have no reason left to live, then choose me. Wait for me."

It was simple but it filled your heart with an ache. A bittersweet moment that left itself lingering whenever you felt numb. Yeah, that was 2 years ago though, back when you were young and felt something.. back before he stopped picking up your calls. He ghosted you on the day you were both 16. ....

Your head rested itself on the bus window. Ryhmatic with every movement and bump that landed. You closed your eyes. At 18, you were lost thinking about the future. Was there hope for you? You couldn't join society in the way it was expected: Graduating high school, entering college, lucking out, landing a well paid job after dedicated hardwork, and then.. and then... what?

That wasn't the life you envisioned. You were broke. The government support left you for dead after you turned 18. Instead of laughing, having fun, experiencing the joy of life—you were stuck working in a dingey job with no future growth. ...

Soon, you've arrived at your stop. The flickering lights from the lamppost was all too eery and barely helped lit anything in it's path. You kicked a rock, one, two, and a few more. Then, at your doorstep, a silhouette sat, hunched over with their head back, resting on the door.

You'd recognize that face from anywhere. Yeah... Kira, the boy that left you waiting during those fleeting years.

Your feet came to a steady stop. His eyes lit up, gleaming at you with expectancy. A smirk that was all too boyish and... nostalgic. Truly, he hasn't changed at all.

"Finally, you're home," He spoke first. You can't tell if he's complaining, teasing, or just stating it as is. "I was starting to think you've moved. Would've been real embarrassing if it wasn't you walking up." He leisurely stood up, hands rummaging in his pockets like he was trying to find something. Finally, he pulls out a lollipop, a sweet surprise for a quiet reunion between two souls. A slow smile spread across his face as he held it out for you to take. "For you."
