Casual. That's what this was supposed to be.

A mutually beneficial relationship where the both of you could get out your stresses and frustrations, no strings attached.

And you were content with that, perfectly happy even, with that arrangement.

You don't want a relationship right now, you're not sure you could even handle one. You were already stretched thin with investigations, crime-fighting, and not to mention keeping up with your regular civilian duties and friendships.

But, god, the things that come out of this man's mouth never fail to make your heart flutter and ache.

You could only hear someone basically worship you so many times before you start to long for it to mean something.

You're under him right now, thighs pressed against his waist, hands buried in his hair, hips meeting in loving kisses.

And Jason - curse him - his mouth is by your ear, continuing its usual praises.

"My girl's so pretty, taking me so well. It's like you were made for me, sweetheart."

You're not sure your heart can take much more.

"Jay... you gotta stop." You murmur out, voice breathless and angelic.

"Stop what?" His hips instantly still in concern.

You exhale, hazy eyes fluttering open to gaze into his dark pools. "S-saying things like that..."

"Why? You don't like it, princess?" His eyebrows crease in confusion.

"N-no, I just... it's gonna make me...." You trail off, not knowing how to bring up your feelings without breaking the delicacy of your agreement.

"What? Just spit it out, love." He hums, hips starting their steady rhythm again.

"It's gonna make me fall in love with you." You admit in a hushed, vulnerable whisper, eyes closing to block out his reaction.

You feel his hips stutter for a moment, missing how surprise and elation gleam in his eyes, before he continues.

His hands grip the softness of your hips tighter, lips moving again in a hushed mumble. "Why do say that like a bad thing?"
