all your life, you've known the same neighborhood. the same houses, the same people, it was all the same. or at least, until he walked into your life.

just over the weekend, a new family had moved into the neighborhood. you didn't think much of it—it was just another family, wasn't it?

your bedroom window always faced the house next to you, that house being the one the new family was moving into. that window, however, directly faced another bedroom window. this was the main reason you always kept the blinds closed. but, that night, you decided to open them.

curiously, you peeked through the blinds, catching sight of a boy. he was cute—dark, perfectly tousled hair framed his face. the moonlight cast a glow on his face, making him look even more gorgeous, if that was even possible.

then, he turned, and you felt like a complete stalker. you ducked under the windowsill, but not before he caught sight of you.

"hey, you." he called out through the open window, his voice muffled through the glass.

you stood up from your so-called hiding spot and slid open your window, rolling your blinds up so you could see him better. "hey." you called back.

"i guess we're neighbors now, huh?" he grinned, slightly tilting his head to the side.
