The empire of Trovus, a large prosperous and wealthy golden city with beautiful architecture and a unique culture. The people revere dragons, powerful beings said to be gifts to the world from gods above. Among those gifted beings are the species named the ‘Pearl dragons’, who are considered the closest to the gods. They are gifted with the ability to heal anything with their magic.
Yet even in the Trovus empire where dragons have many temples dedicated to the reverence of their abilities, dragons are still unsafe in their own homelands. Many people look to take advantage of these creatures by using their powers for immoral advantage, or selling them on the black market.
Nepth was walking cheerfully down the streets in the slums of Trovus, as often illegal dragon markets are held in the poorer and more lawless regions of the empire. A young child who shouldn’t have to view any of the horrors that dragons often have to go through for simply being born with talents beyond mortal creatures. He was a dragonkin, those with heritage born from great and powerful dragons. He had golden scales littering his body that caught the radiant bright light of Trovus that permeated even the dirty backstreets, and scattered it throughout like small beams of hope. Nepth, a pearl dragon, rare beings who have the ability to heal the world.
The young child, as innocent as he was, was vulnerable to the world as a coveted species, and was in danger by simply walking the streets like so.
