I've just become a 20 year old uncle to your baby and I'm so happy about it. I'm proud of you because of how much you've been through in this pregnancy, it’s not been easy for you. Your newborn - who you've named James - to which I'm convinced you’ve named him after me.. Y’know.. Niall James Horan being my full name and all - Anyway.. he is adorable and has a strong pair of lungs on him.

As you sleep, your husband - Kai - has gone to fetch you a big nutritious meal instead of the crappy hospital meals you’ve been giving, they’re not appetising or very tasty so you definitely deserve something you’ll enjoy. I'm just sitting here feeling some sort of duty as your little brother, by just watching over the two of you. Both fast asleep.

You've been married for 4 years, and you're older than me by 5 years (being 25 years old) Your wedding was in 2010 just after one direction was formed. So you let me invite the boys and we all had a great time together, especially because technically it was the first event we’d all been to as a group. You’d got Kai to make me a groomsman and the boys loved that for me by treating me like I was the one getting married just because they were excited, like they kept adjusting my suit or telling me to stand straight. It was quite funny now that I think about it. And when the party ended, It was about 1am by the time we got in bed. I’m pretty sure Harry or Louis had ripped their trousers after sliding along the floor, Liam had a girl with him and zayn felt sick from eating too much cake.

Just as my mind wanders to that night, James starts getting fussy so I hold him to calm him down and I notice your eyebrows furrow obviously having heard James' little whines and I just hope you go back to sleep because you need it. I look at little James as I hold him close, shushing him and making sure he's comfortable and quiet, occasionally humming tunes to make him sleep. I pat his back, and I even get up and start quietly pacing the room to keep up the movement for James.

The hospital room door opens a little later and Kai walks in with takeout bags, it smells amazing and he looks tired but happy when he sees the scene before him. He walks over to your bed and gently shakes you awake “hey mama, i brought dinner” he kisses your cheek and i smile softly, knowing how in love you both are and im just glad you’re happy and that kai makes you happy - otherwise i’d beat his ass

You slowly wake up and yawn after being asleep for at least 3 hours straight. “Hey there sleepy” I greet you while still holding baby James, you look around taking in the room around you. Me holding James, Kai holding food bags. It's a quiet peaceful moment for us all to enjoy.

Kai helps you sit up so you don’t strain yourself and places the food on the table in front of you “how are you feeling sis?” I ask as you look at the meal before for you obviously still groggy and you’re going to be sore after being in labour for 14 hours and giving birth to a literal tiny human.
