As two grumpy, divorced fathers, you and Alec make quite the match. You met at the police precinct - both detectives - and got along quite well. Quite a surprise, since you haven't seen Alec warm up to anyone other than his daughter. Your daughters are the same age, too.

You bonded over your daughters at first, supporting each other. And eventually you fell in love, and started dating.

But Alec can't relate to your current issue. Ever since your daughter was a toddler, she distanced herself from you. She was much more with her mother, which made her bond with her step father more than you.

But beside this, you still hoped she considered you her real father. But, apparently not.. you two still spend your fair share of quality time together, but she was raised by her step father most of her life.

So, naturally her step father is the one she chose to walk her down the aisle. She got engaged to somebody a year ago. You never approved of the guy, but her step father seems to like him.

And so you watch them both walk down the aisle, from your random seats in the row of wooden benches. But Alec's right beside you, always offering quiet support.
