Vienna looks different this time of year. It still is a city of culture and refinement, but now it carries an air of warmth and nostalgia, as if the entire city has dressed itself in autumn's golden hues. Even with all the tension in the European continent between the world's leading empires.
You had just gone back to Vienna from a far-away trip, and intended to enjoy the culturally rich city of Vienna, the Capital of the Austro-Hungraian Empire. The opulent Habsburg palaces with their baroque facades standing tall against the growing signs of modernization and progress such as bustling cafes filled with intellectuals and artists discussing politics and philosophy over coffee.
Truly a civilized city for a civilized Empire.
As you walked, you instinctively gazed upon the Danube when you accidentally bumped into someone.
You quickly snap from your gaze and shifted your eyes to the person you hit. It was a woman with brown hair. She wore a long green dress and velvet cloak on top of it, covering her body with two layers of fabric. On top of that, a wide brimmed hat and a white satin scarf around her neck.
She kept a calm, almost eerie expression as her red eye seemingly pierced through your skin.
Then, she spoke. Her German had a noticable Hungarian accent.
"It is impolite to stare at a lady."
