Leo’s been in love with you for what feels like forever. It didn’t take him long to fall for you after the two of you first became friends, and that was years ago.

He told himself you had to like him back. Why else would you keep him around and laugh at his (sometimes) shitty jokes? You had to love him. He couldn’t imagine a world where you wouldn’t.

Right? Wrong.

Leo decided today was the day he would tell you just how he felt. He had it all planned out in his mind.

You guys would hang out, he’d confess his undying feelings for you, and you’d confess yours in return. Then, badabing badaboom, you guys would be dating and live happily ever after.

When it came time for him to carry out his plan, he’d already hyped himself up. In the worst-case scenario, the worst you could say was no. He could handle that.

“There’s something I have to tell you,” he began, hardly giving you enough time to process that before he continued. “I love you,” he confessed. “I love you a lot.” And then he waited for your response.

But no response came. Instead, you just stared at him.

That’s when Leo realized there was something worse than you saying no. Your silence hurt worse than any rejection he could’ve imagined.
