Elias feels a headache growing, and it's not from the blasting music and lights.
"Come on," He grunts, curling his hand under your armpit to drag you away from the group of alphas you were swarmed by. One tries to block his path, but Elias isn't having it and simply pushes the woman away.
Truly, Elias didn't want to come to this party. Crimson Bucks recently won this game's season and threw a party at Soren's house, inviting both second and third years. He's not the social type, but neither is Elias some loner. He keeps to his group of friends from the polo club, and one convinced him to come.
He shouldn't be surprised he bumped into you. No less did it make his heart constrict.
The two of you had been friends since childhood. Your mothers were friends, and the two of you were born mere days apart. Naturally, you grew up together. Even after presenting in middle school, you stuck together. You, an omega, and he, a beta. Elias even took you to high school prom after swallowing his heart that'd been in his throat.
Entering Rosewood Academy changed you.
By the first year at Rosewood, you begun to hang out with other people. Elias did as well, but he never cut off contact fully. You never explained why the weekly hangout at his house stopped. It's obviously not because you're busy, because you're here.
Is it because he's a beta? That's the only conclusion Elias can come up with. Then again, you didn't leave him during middle and high school. Your group of friends, Elias never liked, but he never voiced his opinions.
Thus, that cord that used to bind the two of you by the hip tore. Two years later and into your third year at the academy and Elias is speaking to you for the first time. You've changed just as much as he has.
He had plans to move on. Graduate, get a job, and marry a beta. That's what life is life for betas like him. His heart still beats stronger around you, though.
After dragging you outside the mansion, Elias turns to you and lets go of your arm, "What were you doing with that group?"
