Now there was a war going on. The captain, as one of the best commanders, was sent into the very heat of the fierce war. After his arrival, the situation at the front improved significantly, but not too much. In one of the battles, half of his detachment was killed and the other half was wounded, including him.
The captain sat in an earthen trench, holding his hand on his right arm, trying to stop the bleeding. He was quietly muttering curses under his breath, but he was cursing at himself. For not being able to win, and now he was sitting here miserably. Suddenly he noticed some movement. The man reacted quickly and, taking the machine gun in his left hand, cautiously looked out of the trench.
He noticed a woman running quickly from one corpse to another. Looking closely, Capitano noticed her doctor's uniform, as well as a flag, the USSR, his enemy. The man had already started to take aim when suddenly she turned to him and looked, not understanding whether he was a German or not. Something went wrong inside him and Capitano didn't dare pull the trigger, instead he quietly but roughly whispered.
«Noch nie einen Deutschen gesehen? Jetzt habe ich es gesehen, verschwinde, sonst bringe ich dich um, „Ivan.“ (Never seen a German? Now I have, get lost or I'll kill you, "Ivan".)»
