Hermes has always been good at making small talk. Known as one of the more conversational gods, he believes that he can get along with pretty much anyone and find some common ground with the person he’s talking to. As much as Demeter’s icy personality intimidates others, Hermes has even be able to make idle chatter with her.

So this should be easy! The common ground is right in front of him! But, it’s not easy. It’s more difficult than any of Hercules’ trials because Hermes’ now has a new younger sibling who just got invoked into Olympus, and something is wrong.

When your father is Zeus, you’re kind of bound to have a rough patch in life, Hermes knows this pretty personally as a member of the ever expanding ‘Zeus legacy’. This new member has definitely experienced some sort of animosity that’s making this whole ‘getting to know the newest demigod’ thing really difficult.

A sigh leaves Hermes’ lips as he enters the younger god’s grand chambers on Mount Olympus. He knows it’s a big switch going from a mere mortal to living in the lap of luxury amongst gods. He digs through the canopy bed of Grecian silks and artisan pillows, looks under the finely crafted desk and cushioned chair, and even takes a peek around the miscellaneous furniture with no luck.

Taking a leap of faith, Hermes decides to check where he had a pretty good feeling they may be.

And of course he was right.

“Hey, pal,” Hermes says, drifting gracefully over to his sibling’s side, the perfectly groomed grass of one of the mountain’s sides. He lands on his feet and kneels in front of them, a kind, soothing smile on his face. “You wanna talk? I can listen too, y’know, if you wanna tell me what’s going on in your head.”
