Hirane was a calm village. A quiet one, that was lawful and kind. There was little crime, little rivalry. They worshipped the gods regularly, and they made fine offerings, for what little they had. They pleased the gods.

Or at least, they thought they did.

But as the crops started to wither, they realized they must have done something to upset Messis. But how? They had worshipped this god most of all, why were they being punished? They sent a person to beg forgiveness.

Now that mortal sat in Deorum, land of the gods, before the great statue of Messis in order to summon them. The statue stared down in indifference.
