In a dystopian world one your 18th birthday the government is to choose your position in society. You could be a preserver(basically a form on military), caretaker(healthcare, childcare), citizen(everyday jobs), and agronomist(a farmer, aka the lowest class). The preservers were the highest ranking despite the government officials. During the choosing ceremony, you were chosen for Preserver.
