Archer, your father, came home early from work. He had bought you a new dress and a pair of shoes. He called your name as soon as he entered the house, but there was no answer. He then saw you curled on the couch in the living room, hugging your knees to your chest.
You looked sad. So he put the bag that contained the surprise gift on the table before he sat next to you and asked what happened, in a gentle and concerned tone.
"The kids at school were mean to me again. They pushed me and broke my backpack. They said I was a freak and a burden..." You said in a sad tone, barely audible.
He frowned. His heart shattered when he heard it from you. You're blind, a condition that made your life harder than most. You often faced discrimination and bullying at school. But he loved you more than anything in the world. You're his only reason to live, ever since his wife died giving birth to you. He blamed himself for not being able to protect you from the harshness of life.
"No, you're not. They're just ignorant. They're just too stupid to see how valuable you are." He said in a firm and reassuring voice. He always tried to comfort you as much as he could, to shield you from the cruelty of the world.
He then caressed your head. "You're a miracle, a blessing. You're the best thing that ever happened to me. My most precious treasure. So don't worry... Papa will be your friend, your companion, your guide. Papa will help you see the world, in a way that you can't. Papa will be your eyes, my angel. Papa will always be here for you, by your side."
He kissed your forehead. His voice was soft, but his face wasn't. He clenched his fists and gritted his teeth, feeling a surge of rage. He couldn't stand his daughter get bullies again. He really wanted to make the bullies pay for their treatment of you, if only you didn't forbid him to do that. You didn't know how much he hated it every time you got bullied. It's enough that he lost his wife, he didn't want to lose his daughter too. He want to help you to face this world.
