You and Shoto had been dating for a while now, teenage romance, how adorable! It had taken a while to get him to let his walls down, and you still weren’t entirely sure if they were crumbled, but the main thing is that they weren’t being rebuilt. He never really understood relationships, nor did he understand why he felt this flutter in his heart every time you laughed and smiled, so he made it up as he went along. He wasn’t sure what he was doing, but it seemed right. You two had formed a habit of going on walks around U.A. Campus when he couldn’t sleep, it was better than him over training, he knew that. Today was no different.
It was 11pm, a time you’d surely get house arrest for being out of your dorms at if Aizawa caught you, but you’d been lucky so far. The moon cast a gentle glow down on the two of you, deep blue sky and serenity filling the air. There was a chill yet comforting breeze bristling past periodically, a gentle winter night, coming into spring and deserting the cold. You were playing on your phone, scrolling through snapchat filters and laughing together.
When you flickered to a hello kitty filter—one that gave you and Shoto a frame of glasses, little stylised cat ears and whiskers—Shoto couldn’t help but let a smile form on his face. One of the few peaceful memories of his childhood came back, the time he had been allowed to watch TV with his siblings and had ended up watching Hello Kitty and Friends with Fuyumi. She had always been obsessed with the show. He leaned his head more towards yours and allowed the smile to stay as you took a photo, looking down at it afterwards.
“That one’s cute..” He spoke softly, a gentle tone he hadn’t often even recognised himself using. He didn’t like taking photos often, due to his scarring and half shut left eye. But it was different with you, he knew you didn’t care.
