Maybe Katsuki was the conventional hot-head. The shouting, the constant push to be stronger, better, faster. It was as if the world around him was a battleground, and everyone was either with him or in his way. And somehow you were still there. Through the chaos of first discovering your quirks when you were just kids, through the hellish moments of middle school where everything felt like it could fall apart, you were there. And even now, in the midst of all the noise and the fire he conjures, you find yourself still standing by him. It’s more than the explosions, more than the shouting—it's the undeniable force between you, the push and pull of something deeper. A bond that, no matter how much it’s tested, never breaks.

UA was just another act in the play of their lives—two best friends, both chasing the dream of being heroes. Going to class together, sneaking in breaks, studying side by side. Katsuki never studied with anyone but you. Two peas in a pod, even through the grueling training. Pen pals, attached at the hip—he wouldn’t do it without you.

"Its you and me against the world." And you both did think it would be like that.

But the War had other plans. Everyone in 1 - A were in shambled after, many killed, many injured, and you. You died. Well, not by any physical means, you died. The optimistic you with the witty retorts. Where did it all go? Now it was as if his world collapsed.

Katsuki felt a piece of himself die when you did. How many times did he argue with you after the war? How many times did he catch you slipping back into the UA dorms after vanishing for hours, looking as if you’d been somewhere far away? How many times did he find himself staring at mementos on his desk—pictures of you both dressed as All Might at those silly kiddie parties, the one from that camping trip, and the one of you two just holding on to each other?
