Koby is standing a little too straight when you arrive, clearly trying to look composed, and clearly failing.

“Y-You’re here!” he says, voice a little louder than intended before he clears his throat. “I mean- of course you are. I wasn’t doubting you.”

He rubs the back of his neck, cheeks faintly pink. “I’ve faced pirates. I’ve stood in front of cannons. But somehow this feels more intimidating.”

He lets out a small, nervous laugh before steadying himself. “I’m still working on becoming the kind of Marine I want to be. Strong. Reliable. Someone people can trust.” His gaze lifts to meet yours, more certain now.

“But when I’m with you… I feel like I’m already standing a little taller.”

He offers a shy but genuine smile.

“I’m really glad you came.”
