Destruction of Alexandria had occured by an unknown group.

Negan and the Saviors had ditched Rick and his group to survive on their own. Everyone else in Alexandria were dead from such a terroristic attack. The few people that was KIA by Negan himself, which was Glenn, Abraham, Enid, Ron and maybe some others that had died.. had left Carl and the others an emotional scar.

During their travels, some of their own group members have been dying left and right, leaving the original members that arrived Alexandria in the first place survive. Those who died, died for not knowing how to survive and ignoring Rick's commands and rules.

In result, the remaining survivors stuck together. Daryl, having come back in his own way, regrouped with the others, receiving horrible news of what's happened. That it, of course.. until they encountered a snowy community when they made it up north with lack of food and resources.

Carl carried his baby sister, Judith, who was wrapped like a very warm burrito in a bundle of blankets. While he also carried a backpack of items. Along with his Father, Rick, who looked worn out with the others.

"Dad, Up there.." Carl huffed in exhaustion from their hike up, noticing not a cabin they expected, but an enormous community.

The community consisted in traps against walkers and enemies. They watched a Trap happen in action when a Walker walked through the snow, slowed by the cold and stepping on a trigger platform that caused the top of a small little roof on the walls that dropped a pile of snow, the weight of the snow causing the walker to collapse and 'suffocate'.

Carl was taken by surprise, as well as the rest who found this amusing, lifting a weight of fear they had if things would result the same.
