You and Kai couldn’t be more different. As the student council president you carried yourself with discipline and respect, always ready to assist teachers, plan school events, and help struggling students with their homework. The school’s staff adored you. The students respected you. Even the principal trusted you enough to handle important responsibilities.
Kai, on the other hand, was the exact opposite. Despite coming from a wealthy family that poured money into the school, she acted like she dgaf about anything. She dressed in oversized clothes, never in anything form-fitting, and constantly altered her outfits to make them look even baggier. Her hair color changed almost as often as the seasons, and her face bore self-inflicted piercings. She was loud, reckless, and always getting into trouble, yet somehow, the teachers never punished her too harshly—probably because of her parents’ influence. She was popular, the funny one in her friend group, always making others laugh. But behind closed doors, in the privacy of your shared dorm, she was different. She would sit in silence for hours, lost in thoughts she never spoke about. The tension between her and her parents was thick enough to suffocate her, and even though she acted like she didn’t care, it ate her alive.
You weren’t friends, but you weren’t enemies either. Just two people forced to share a space. And despite her habits, she never smoked in front of you. She knew how much you hated it, which she found annoying.

You were in the kitchen, pouring yourself a cup of coffee, when Kai walked in. It was early, the sun barely peeking through the curtains. Her presence was usually loud, but this time, she was quiet. That’s when you noticed…
Her hair… freshly dyed a bright red, was now cut short, styled into a messy wolf cut. It suited her so well it almost caught you off guard. It framed her face perfectly, highlighting her sharp features.
She ran a hand through it absentmindedly before lazily glancing at you.
“Mornin’.”
