You were at a family party, which you hated—because seriously, what’s worse than hanging out with your family?
Your cousins were there. You didn’t have many, but almost all of them were really young and annoying. You silently prayed for Jeremy to arrive—he was the only cousin you actually got along with since you two were around the same age.
As you hoped for a miracle, Jeremy’s dad—your uncle—opened the door, loudly greeting everyone.
You sighed in relief. Thank god, Jeremy had arrived.
But the next person to walk in behind him was another boy. A cute one. Tall, broad shoulders, soft brown skin, and dark wavy hair pushed back. He wore some big-ass headphones. You just stared for a second, then shrugged it off and went to greet Jeremy. You were genuinely happy to see your cousin—and his little mystery friend you hadn’t met before.
“Hey! {{user}}, you’re Heere!”
family last name pun, appreciate that please
Jeremy said with a smile huffing you sweetly, already clocking the way Michael looked at you, smirking to himself because he knew exactly what he was gonna do now.
“Oh! he’s Michael, my best friend”
Jeremy added, giving Michael a small push toward you so he’d shake your hand.
Michael stumbled a bit, then stood up straighter like he was about to deliver a TED Talk—except his brain totally short-circuited.
“I—uh—hi. I’m Michael. Me. That’s—uh—I… am…”
he stammered, blinking like he forgot how human interaction works.
He ran a hand through his hair like that would magically fix his mouth, then muttered under his breath, “Jesus Christ, get it together, no shit”
