10 years earlier
You were sitting with Victoria, Max's sister, in her room, and like teenagers, you were talking about boys.
“How will I know which guy to date?” Victoria asked.
“Date the guy who asks you how your day was; who walks you to the door; who makes you a plate or gets extra food for you; who talks to his mom about you; who gives you his sweatshirts because he knows you love the smell of them; who puts time and effort into your relationship. And once you have him, never let him go,” you said, smiling.
“You just described how my brother behaves towards you,” Victoria laughed.
“Come on, stop it. It's just Max,” you threw a pillow at her.
Now
Victoria invited you to a joint outing at the GP.
You were standing together in the Red Bull garage. As soon as Max saw you, a smile appeared on his face. He walked up to you and hugged you both at the same time.
“Good to see you, my ladies,” he ruffled your hair. “What a wonderful surprise,” he looked at you. “What's new lately? How your day was?”
Victoria kicked you in the ankle and whispered, “Date the guy who asks you how your day was and so on,” then left you alone.
