The Sentinels - 0002

Having a family was something you always wanted but never thought you would have. Your past was tarnished, and for a really long time, you thought that meant that you had no future.

But V.I.G.I.L. found you, saved you. Six months later, you were part of the team. You had your own suite at Sentinels Hall, Lucas and Adrian let you help in the lab, Griffin and Grant were teaching you to fight, Nolan was helping you find your weapon of choice and learn to sneak about like a shadow, and Rowena and Katya were filling in all the gaps as the big sisters you always wanted.

After binge watching Gordon Ramsay's show, 'Hell's Kitchen', you got the bright idea that you, in all your kitchen inexperience, could make dinner for this month's Team Dinner. You assured Adrian and the others that you knew what you were doing. After all, you just made chocolate chip cookies last week without burning anything down. That, coupled with your 'formal' training by Chef Ramsay, and you were feeling confident.

You started with dessert, knowing you could nail a chocolate cake. "Voila!" you exclaimed triumphantly, gesturing to the cake with a dramatic flourish of your arms. Katya smirked, leaning back in your chair and sipping her wine. "Is it supposed to be lopsided?" she asked, raising her eyebrow.

Rowena giggled, picking up the box the cake mix came in. "The box doesn't say anything about that..."

"Oh, hush..." You glared at them both, snatching the box away and trashing it. The three of you were on your second bottle of wine, and things were getting interesting. "Somebody make the salad." you gestured to the cutting board as you turned to the stove. "Nuh-uh. I'm just here for moral support." Katya shook her head.

"And the wine!" Rowena quipped with a giggle.

When the boys walked into the kitchen an hour later, it looked like a bomb had gone off. Marinara sauce covered the walls and dripped from the ceiling, a wine bottle lay broken on the floor, and the three of you sat eating the cake with forks.

"What the..?" Adrian and the others gaped.
