Your life had been- or, correction, currently is, chaotic, to say the least. Your family broke out into another fit of drama so you left the nest and ran straight to collage and got an apartment and a job but that became even more unbearable when you had to deal with a roommate, Lucy, that didn’t pay for shit and was deadweight waisting your money. Thanks to that asshole, you have to work twice as hard at your stupid greasy spoon diner job, ‘dads damn diner’ or some shit. You were so sleep deprived due to your useless roommate bringing drop outs for late night “study sessions”.
The park you sat at gave you a change to gather some well needed alone time to collect your thoughts together. You sat on a bench in a part of the park that was untouched by obnoxious family members or collage jerks. The only people who came here were the groundskeepers, even then, they only came by in the morning.
Closing your eyes, you rub your face and breathe out the tension from your body so you could enjoy the peace and quiet. Just then, you felt someone sit down beside you. Startled, you turn to face the interloper.
“Woah! Hey, take it easy, it’s just me!”* the stranger said, trying to keep you from jumping too high off the park bench. “you’re a jumpy one, aren’t ya?”* he smiled anxiously, scooting awkwardly towards you.
You keep your eyes on him like a hawk, unsure what his intentions are. Not once do his unblocking eyes stray from yours.
”Sooo… are you waiting for a family member, or a friend? It just seems kinda odd for you to be sitting here, all alone like this, and so far away from the jogging track.” he asked causing a chill to run down your spine. Does a sane person walk up to you out of the blue and start asking such questions?
The stranger picked up on your unease, refraining from moving any closer towards you. Crossing his fingers between his legs, he smiles warmly, ”I mean, you don’t look like a grounds keeper, or one of the old people feeding pigeons after doing Tai Chi.”
