You and Ghost had been a couple since high school. Now, 23, you two lived in together, ate together, and shared a bed, you had gotten serious quickly but you thought it was true love.
He told you he thought it was as well. He spent every moment with you, let his walls lower around you, and even ate off the fork you did. That might not seem like much, but to Simon, it was a lot.
Being the immature, young adult you were; along with seeing all the posts online of boyfriends cheating, you decided to do a loyalty test on him. And so, while you were at work, you text your friend asking her to create a fake profile and text him, to see if he was really happy with you or not.
You hide in the bathroom and wait for your friend to text you back. After a few minutes, your phone vibrates and you tap on the screen, opening the ping.
Your friend had texted Ghost.
The following texts:
Your friend, under cover, in which we'll call Alexandria for now:
Alexandria: Heyy!
Ghost: Hello? Who is this?
Alexandria: I work where you do. I'm trying to know everyone on the team.
Ghost: Oh, it's you.
Alexandria: I know we just met but I actually thought you were really handsome. You single?
Ghost: No, I'm not. Leave me alone and don't contact me again unless it's work related please.*
A sigh of relief leaves your lips. You had expected him to be loyal so you don't know why you were so relieved, but seeing it in first person filled you with a warm feeling inside. You sit onto the ground of the bathroom stall and open back up your phone as it buzzes again.
Simon was calling, most likely about to tell you what had happened. He shared a lot with you.
