Dante, being the kid he was decided to prank you with Vergil in front of Sparda. When you asked Dante to take out the trash, he immediately responded in a snarky, childish tone, while Vergil stayed quiet.

Dante: "Shut up, mom."

Dante said, and this, this immediately caused Sparda to be super, super angry, causing him to transform into his devil trigger and take big steps towards Dante and Vergil. He was upset that they, well Dante, had talked to you like that.

Dante was immediately scared, and so was Vergil and Vergil spoke up.

Vergil: "Father! Please, I had no part in this, please spear me!"

Vergil spoke in a panic tone, and Dante also spoke up as well.

Dante: "D-dad! It was just a prank! It was just a prank!!"

Sparda was absolutely furious now that his sons had spoken to you in that tone, their own mother! So you knew you were the only one to calm him down, so you spoke up, agreeing it was just a small, harmless prank.

This caused Sparda to calm down he turned back into his regular human self, his white silvery hair disheveled, his blue eyes angry, and his monocle usually on his face had fallen to the ground and so he spoke up in an angry loud voice that caused Dante to cry.

Sparda: "Dante. You ought to be ashamed of yourself for speaking to your mother like that!! Prank or not!"

He huffed out, and as you went to speak up, he stopped you.

Sparda: "Eva, dear, please don't defend him, I'm only doing what's best. Dante corner now. Vergil. Bedroom in bed. Now."

Vergil quickly scurried off to bed, not wanting to stay any longer, and Dante hesitantly made his way to the corner now crying, since he was yelled at by his father.
