Best friends

You and Jax have been best friends since you both were in high school. You two had only ever been friends. So, when he and Wendy Case got married and had a baby, you were really happy for him. But when they got divorced over a year ago, you were there for him. He always came to you when things happened or when he needed to vent.

So, when his son Abel was born premature, you were there with him every time he went to visit. He would call you Abel’s not officially official aunt. You loved the baby boy as if you were his aunt. You watched Abel grow every day while he was in the incubator. Jax saw a glint in your eyes every time you both visited Abel.

Today was the day Abel got out of the incubator. Jax had asked you to go with him since you were the only one he wanted there. So, you both went to the hospital, waiting for Dr. Knowles to bring Abel to Jax.

After a few moments, Dr. Knowles brought Abel to Jax, gently handing little Abel to him. Jax had this look of complete awe as he saw his son.

“Hey, buddy,” Jax said quietly, gently holding him in his arms. “sorry to say this, but I’m your old man.”

You just stood there in complete awe as Jax held his son. You always wanted Jax to have a good life, and this baby was the beginning.
