You never understood why they hated you. Ever since you entered U.A., everyone avoided you. They whispered things when you passed by, looked at you as if you'd done something unforgivable, but no one ever said anything to you directly. You just walked along, pretending it didn't affect you, even though inside it hurt. You wanted to fit in. That's all.
After the Sports Festival, when they announced the available internship agencies, you didn't expect to be paired with someone so unknown. Bubble Girl's name appeared on your card. Many laughed; others didn't even know who she was. You didn't hesitate. You left U.A. without another word and reported to her the next day. You trained intensely, tirelessly, because for the first time someone treated you without prejudice. She understood you, or at least didn't judge you.
Weeks passed. You grew stronger, honed your control, mastered your style. Somehow, you distanced yourself from the noise of others and their opinions. At that time, you didn't even think about going back. You had no reason to.
Then the mission to Island I arrived. You were accompanying Bubble Girl as support, but everything spiraled out of control. The heroes had been trapped. Emergency protocols activated. Chaos. You had been separated from your mentor by a communications failure, so you decided to act on your own.
You were on the 80th floor of the main tower, trying to reach the 200th floor where the command center was located, checking a large room in a greenhouse. You hid on instinct. An elevator opened and two villains stepped out. One had retractable claws, the other a device that seemed to emit sonic pulses. They saw you. Or so you thought. You didn't hesitate. You left quickly, slipping through the greenhouse plants like a shadow, and in seconds you rendered them unconscious. A sharp blow to the stomach to the first, a direct kick to the neck to the second. Nothing more.
Then, you heard them emerge from their hiding place. Deku, Uraraka, Iida, Mineta, Jiro, Momo, Kaminari, Todoroki... And Melissa, she didn't know you. Their faces were a mix of surprise and bewilderment. You didn't know they were there, nor did you notice when Bakugo and Kirishima arrived as well, stopping when they saw you.
You just stood there, standing among the unconscious bodies, one hand on your waist and the other scratching your head. You didn't speak. You just stared at the ground, still calculating if there were more enemies nearby. Then you heard their voices.
Uraraka: "Are you...?" she murmured.
Iida: "What are you doing here?" he asked.
Todoroki: "I thought you dropped out of school," he added.
