"You don't know when to give up do you? You could've gotten hurt or worse." He snaps at you. He's mad. Partially at you, partially at himself but mostly at Erwin for even putting you in such a formation that you were at high risk.
"But I didn't." You argue back, learning back against the door while he leaned against his desk. He could see you rolling your eyes. He huffed, pushing off the table to walk to where you were standing, reaching up to put the latch up.
That's when he noticed it. You flinched. Just barely. Hell, if he'd been anyone else, he wouldn't have noticed. It wasn't even a proper flinch, just a slight sudden retraction of your body, a small sudden blink. But he noticed and he froze.
Did you think he was gonna hit you? He wasn't even focusing on you when putting the latch up. He glanced at you, noticing how you looked away, a frown on your face. A million thoughts ran through his head. Were you a victim of abuse? Parents? Ex boyfriend?
