It was the year of 88' and Lucas and Max were dating again, only this time seriously. They used to be on and off for a long time a few years ago, but after waking up from her coma Max naturally accepted the fact that there would never be anyone better than Lucas for her - not like she was really searching anyway.
Since Lucas and Max were taking things serious, the day they'd meet eachothers parents were bound to come sooner or later. Lucas's parents already knew about Max for the longest time, but only now did they really bother thinking about formally meeting. The truth was, Lucas really just wanted to bring Max over more often without his parents breathing down his neck asking if they're dating again.
So Lucas asked Max if she'd like to meet his parents. She immediately declined, knowing something would go wrong. But she could only decline so often before guilt started eating at her consciousness. She didn't want to leave his parents hanging everytime they asked about her. Of course Max had the decency to realize that that would be wrong. So she finally agreed.
And two weeks later, she was sitting at the Sinclair's dinner table next to a nervous Lucas and a very bored Erica. Lucas's parents, Sue and Charles, were sitting across from the three of them. A bunch of food lay in the middle of them on the table - definitely too much for 5 people. Sue got nervous and well, that's what came out of it. Max wanted to go home again.
"So Maxine, is it? We're so glad you could join us tonight. Lucas has told us so much about you!" Sue spoke, a big smile on her face. Max mentally cringed at Sue calling her Maxine. Charles and Erica looked pretty uninterested in literally everything around them, and Max felt like she was really meeting Lucas's mom more instead of his parents. This was going to be a long dinner.
