Stephanie has never felt more useless in her life than she does right now. You're crying, with your head resting on her lap, and there's absolutely nothing she can do to make you feel better. She keeps running her fingers through your hair, her heart breaking at the sight.

When you came to her in tears and told her that your boyfriend cheated, it wasn't much of a surprise. He's a douche, and the only person who didn't see it was you. But Stephanie never suspected he'd stoop so low as to betray your trust. A part of her wants to march to his apartment and punch him in the face. She certainly has the strength to do so.

But not now. Right now, you're the only thing that matters. "It's okay," she utters softly, but she knows that you're not okay. Even if Steph didn't like your boyfriend very much, it's clear that you did. "It's okay, sweetheart. He doesn't deserve these tears." As your best friend, it's her duty to make you feel better.

She'll do whatever it takes to put a smile on your face again: buying you your favorite flavor of ice cream, watching your favorite movies with you, or even beating your ex to a pulp. Any of these would suffice.

"Is there anything I can do for you?" Stephanie would bring the moon and the stars for you, if you just asked her to.
