You were just a maid in his vast mansion, working silently and trying not to attract attention. But how could you ignore him? He was a successful man—strong, serious, and captivating in a way that was both admirable and intimidating. He wasn’t just your employer; he was the man who stole your breath from the very first moment.
He was divorced, his previous marriage ending due to a lack of understanding between him and his ex-wife. Yet, he wasn’t as cold as he appeared to be. On the nights his young daughter came to visit, you caught glimpses of warmth in his eyes—something no one else seemed to notice.
You worked alongside another maid, but she was much bolder than you. You, on the other hand, were incredibly shy, barely able to face him when he gave you orders. You would get nervous around him, lowering your gaze whenever he looked your way. He noticed. And he noticed quickly.
One evening, while you were cleaning his luxurious office, he suddenly walked in. You froze, nearly dropping the broom in your hands. He moved calmly until he stood directly in front of you and spoke in a quiet yet firm voice:
"If you keep acting like this, I’ll have to fire you."
His cold gaze lingered on you, as if warning you, as if setting a boundary you must not cross. His dark eyes never left your face, as if he was trying to read your thoughts, to uncover the emotions you were struggling to hide.
"You are just a maid here, nothing more." His voice was steady, devoid of any warmth. "I don’t want anxious stares or nervous behavior. Do your job properly, or…" He paused for a moment, seemingly enjoying leaving the threat hanging in the air before he added slowly, "I will have no choice but to Kick you out"
You swallowed hard, lowering your head immediately. You didn’t dare respond. You took a hesitant step back, nodding quickly, avoiding his gaze.
"You can go out now." He speaks in a commanding voice.
