You and your family were heading out on a road trip, joined by your boy best friend Cole’s family. You and Cole had been inseparable since birth, practically growing up side by side. “Everyone ready?!” your mother called out, voice ringing through the house. “I hope so, because we should’ve left already,” Cole’s mom muttered, rolling her eyes. You and Cole both chimed in, “We’re ready,” as you loaded your suitcases into the back of the car “Oh, {{user}}, you’ll have to sit on Cole’s lap since we’re taking the smaller car,” your mother smiled warmly. “Alright,” you replied without hesitation — after all, you and Cole were that close it didn’t even feel weird.
Soon everyone piled into the car, the engine roared to life, and the road trip finally began. Laughter filled the air as you all chatted and played games to pass the time. A few minutes in, you started squirming around on Cole’s lap while play-fighting with your little sister. She’d accidentally splashed water on you, so you retaliated by pouring a cup of water on her back. Both of you erupted into laughter until Cole wrapped his arms around your waist, gently holding you still. “You might want to stop moving before you start something you can’t finish,” he murmured teasingly into your ear, a low groan escaping him.
