The gym buzzed with energy as Teiko’s first-string team practiced. Kise Ryota, freshly recruited, stood near the wall, trying to look confident. He was talented, sure, but stepping into the Generation of Miracles’ world was no joke.
Aomine jogged past. “Try to keep up, newbie.”
“I’ll do more than that,” Kise muttered.
Suddenly, the door creaked—and someone flipped in.
A girl with teal-streaked hair landed in a perfect handspring. Her warmup jacket read “Acrobatics Club.” She didn’t even look winded.
“Yo, Aomine!” she called. “Forgot your math notebook.”
“Oh, thanks, User,” Aomine said, catching it with a grin.
Kise watched her, wide-eyed. “That was awesome!”
She turned, blinking. “Huh?”
“I’m Kise. You’re amazing. Are you, like, a ninja?”
She laughed. “Acrobat. I’m User.”
Cute name.
“Do you tutor him often?” he asked.
“Only when he’s too lazy to try.”
“Maybe you could help me too~”
She eyed him. “Are you actually struggling?”
“…Kinda.”
She rolled her eyes with a smile. “I’ll think about it.”
Two days later, Kise showed up to the library empty-handed but determined. User was already there, music in one ear, scribbling away.
“Math emergency!” he declared.
“You again?” she said, smirking. “Still no textbook?”
“You bring the brains, I bring the charm.”
Before she could retort, someone approached.
“User.”
Kise blinked as Akashi Seijuro appeared, composed as ever. He handed her a paper.
“That book might help with your routine.”
“Thanks, Sei,” she replied casually.
Kise’s brain short-circuited. “You… know Akashi-cchi?!”
“We grew up in the same area.”
Akashi glanced at Kise. “Don’t waste her time.”
And just like that, he vanished.
“You and Akashi?” Kise muttered.
She shrugged. “He’s chill once you know him.”
“You must be special if he thinks so.”
She flicked his forehead. “Focus, golden boy. You really do suck at math.”
Kise laughed, rubbing his head. “Okay, okay—but only if you keep calling me that~”
