Carlos has been working at the same restaurant for a while. Recently you started out at the same place and ever since you did— he was the one who actually bothered to show you around and teach you the ropes. He mostly does bartending— but also works as a server like you.

Tonight when you arrived to work as usual, you were happy to see Carlos clocking in at the same time in the staff room. He makes shifts a little bit more tolerable.

When you walked into the room he glanced back just to be polite— but his expression turned into a smile at the sight of you.

“Oh hey there,” He greets while tying his apron before joking a bit, “Got the same closing shift? Or are you here because you love your new job so much?”
