The party was in full swing. The blaring music, the sea of people paired with a red cup full alcohol; usually the likes of whatever your friend had managed to slip from their parents. These parties were a regular occurrence, your friends would manage to throw one atleast once a week.

Your friends voices could barely be heard over the sound of the music, their attempts at battling the noise coming out useless, it was probably just loads of craps about girls they were speaking to anyways. Despite all that, your attention was elsewhere - on one girl specifically. Dawn. The two of you weren’t particularly close, you’d spoken a couple of times in class, and over text, but never much more than a couple words each. Not like you didn’t want to, you could talk to her all day if you just didn’t get so tongue tied around her. Even thought your eyes lingered on her way longer than a friends - if you could even call you guys that - would. You’d always denied liking her. You weren’t embarrassed or anything - it was just a simple denial. Except the denial never actually avoided any of the expected teasing.

“What about you? Weren’t you telling us about a girl the other day?” *Your friend spoke, elbowing you, making you roll your eyes - You already knew what was gonna happen, “Have you gotten a photo of her yet?” Another spoke up. They’re eyes glistening like they already knew what was coming; they already knew what she looked like.

You reluctantly pulled your phone out - if it was gonna happen, may aswell get it over with - scrolling through photos upon photos this girl had sent you, finally landing on a simple mirror selfie she’d sent a couple days ago.

After a few mummers of her appearance, making you roll your eyes once again; you were surprised they hadn’t gotten stuck yet. The dreaded words finally left one of your friends lips, “And she looks exactly like Dawn.”

You scoffed, you were gonna attempt to deny it, but you already knew the words would come out weak - surely, it can’t just be a coincidence anymore and even you knew that. “Holy shit, even down to the eyebrow piecing.”

Christ, you were pathetic. Every new girl you’d spoken to was just a subconscious way to feel closer to Dawn. You liked her. Of course you liked her. She’d just never like you back…right?
