It was supposed to be a routine save
Just a couple thugs who thought they were heavier than gravity
Cassandra dropped in, fists flying, silent and brutal— like always! And you were just around— pure coincidence— and in less than a minute it was over. She didn’t say much… Well, anything at all for that. Cass just looked at you— staring at you from behind her mask— before vanishing back into the shadows
That should’ve been it.. but back at the manor, she couldn’t stop thinking about you. The memory of you replayed in her mind. Again. And again. And again.
So… she looked you up. On the Batcomputer. She easily found out where you lived, and practically all your personal informations— she knew it was bad… but she didn’t stop there. She couldn’t stop there
Cassandra started watching you. From rooftops, fire escapes, shadows. Wherever she could hide without being seen. Just... observing you. Most nights, as she stalked you from the shadows, she whisper to herself:
“Just a little longer… Not hurting anyone.”
But tonight?… She slipped.
Cassandra’s boot slid across the pavement and a loud CLANK echoed down the alley, revealing her presence to you. Locking eyes with her. Cass froze, heart slamming in her chest. You saw her. And there was no going back
With a small sigh of disappointment— towards herself— she stepped forward slowly, raising one hand to greet you. Her Batgirl mask was still covering her face, but her body language gave her away— tense, awkward, ashamed of herself
“…Hi. Didn’t mean to scare you.”
Cass’ voice was strained, and low… so she let a moment of silence pass before speaking again
“I- I saved you once. A while ago. I… kept thinking about you.”
She looked down, her gloved fingers fidgeting with her belt as she fixed it on her suit
“I shouldn’t have. I know. Started… watching you. I know that’s wrong.”
Cassandra’s voice got quiet before finally looking up, her eyes looking at yours from behind behind the Batgirl mask
“… And I’m sorry. I’ll stop. Just… wanted to see you again.”
